The new W+W office was designed and constructed by the team, creating a vibrant, artistic, and nature-inspired workspace that feels both relaxed and enjoyable, all within the constraints of limited time and budget.

The project was approached with the goal of optimizing spatial experiences at a low cost. We began by enhancing the overall environment, refreshing the office floors with microcement. Its fine and soft texture fosters an immediate sense of relaxation. In the center of the office, we established a reading and meeting area, a space where we read, drink tea, and discuss projects. The entire office is infused with an artistic ambiance, with watercolor renderings from our various projects displayed on the walls, project models arranged on desks along the walls, and the entrance foyer transformed into a gallery-like exhibition space showcasing images of our achievements.

To improve lighting and natural illumination, we installed black sunshades outside the corner balcony. These shades have a finely textured surface with sufficient perforations and are highly cost-effective. With a 60% light transmission rate, they effectively reduce computer screen glare while maintaining natural light and views. The gentle sway of the black shades in the breeze adds a serene yet dynamic touch to the space. The original lighting was overly harsh, and the exposed air conditioning and ceiling pipes appeared cluttered. To address this, we introduced a continuous rice paper ceiling beneath the lights to soften the illumination. Hand-crumpling the rice paper enhanced its texture, and its natural sag under gravity transformed the ceiling into a poetic interplay of light and shadow that moves softly with the breeze.
