The exhibition hall is situated on the fourth floor of Yunjian Hall in Songjiang, covering an area of 170 square meters. The longer northern side faces the southwestern corner of Zuibai Pond, offering a window view filled with lush greenery that transitions distinctly through the four seasons. Overlooking the corridors, pavilions, and waterside structures creates a sensation of being among the clouds.
The space will function as a temporary exhibition for one month, with an extremely limited budget. The museum requires that the original walls, floor, and ceiling remain unaltered, and hopes that we fully utilize the bamboo, platforms, and hemp rope from the previous exhibition setup.
The halls, pavilions, and waterside structures along Zuibai Pond are abstracted into interconnected multifunctional art spaces, serving both as an exhibition area and a tea space. The enclosed “pond heart area” can be used for small-scale events. Through lightweight construction methods and the use of sustainable materials, we express the dynamism and permeability of traditional Chinese gardens. As visitors move through the space, they encounter situational installations themed around “Spring,” “Summer,” “Autumn,” and “Winter,” which interact harmoniously with the seasonal scenery of Zuibai Pond outside the windows. This creates an artistic effect where time and space intertwine, the view changes with every step, and small details reveal a broader landscape.
