At first, the owners asked us to add a very traditional Tibetan pavilion on the top floor of the high-rise building to express the architectural spirit of Tibet. However, we believe that this approach is too far-fetched and it is difficult to coordinate with high-rise buildings. We respect Tibetan culture very much, and we propose modern solutions to how to express the traditional spirit in high-rise modern architecture. We first deconstructed and analyzed traditional buildings, extracted representative symbols, and then converted them into modern design languages, making the architectural style look both modern and simple, as well as the shadow of traditional Tibetan architecture.
